What pump to use for an outdoor fountain?

I would like to get a small fountain in the center of my garden, however I do not have an outdoor plug. I also cannot get one because it is a rented flat, and you cannot just run cords out of the window in the center of a city. So, what else can i do? Can i run a fountain off something like a car battery, buried in a sealed box a few meters away? Would a solar fountain work, or is there not enough sunlight this far north (55N), also where do you put the solar panel where it doesn’t look ugly? Are there other types of battery powered pumps, and where would you get them from? For any suggestions of where to buy pumps, note that i am in the UK. Thanks

Outdoor motion detector security light?

My landlord installed an outdoor motion detector light a few days ago and the flood lights on it aren’t working. I know that the light switch that operates it works because the other light that is on that particular switch works and I know that the light unit works because when I walk by it, a red light starts blinking. I thought that it was just because it has a solar cell, however, I was coming in from work at 11:00 PM last night, when it is completely dark outside, and it still wasn’t working. What could be wrong with this thing? I’ve already called my landlord to notify him of this problem, however, he is very difficult to get in contact with. Thanks! Where can I find a spotlight?

I need a spotlight for my flagpole for at night. I would like it to be solar, but I can’t find anything that is bright enough. I don’t want to spend a lot of money. I could use one with a cord if needed, but I just can’t find an outdoor “sit on the ground” spotlight. Also, are their spotlights that can attach to flagpoles, then it can be solar… Thanks!
